Drop-in D&D is D&D for people who just want to play — no prep or complicated scheduling needed. Just show up, pick a session, and join our amazing friendly community on an adventure! We provide all the necessary materials, including dice, minis, and guidance for new players.

That’s totally fine! Our sessions are written to be satisfying one-shots as well as rewarding ongoing stories. We share any significant lore updates during announcements, so there’s no need to worry about missing vital information.

New players will start an hour early for character creation. You're very likely to have company as a new player, and the rest of the staff and community are very welcoming, so don't be afraid to ask questions -- we'd love to help!
After character creation, you’ll head to the quest board where the available adventures are posted. Usually these are a mixture of roleplay and combat, though we have a tonne of variety — from duck racing, to our hallowed sport of murderbowl, to brave exploration into Arcadia’s unknown. The sessions are labelled with tone and content warnings, so you can be sure that there will only be good surprises.
We run through brief announcements — lore updates and safety information — then head into the sessions. Don’t forget to order food in the Tavern, as it will be delivered to your table so you don’t need to interrupt your game!
You’ll usually have 2 breaks during the game to grab refreshments and stretch your legs.

Arcadia is built by a talented team of guest writers who step in to create individual regions of our patchwork world. So far, we’ve had a dinosaur jungle, a beach region based on ghost stories, a city of weird magic inhabited by creatures made of yarn — and that’s just to name a few. In the meantime, the overarching story of Arcadia is a multi-year journey that has only just begun.
Players can drop in for a one-off session or dive deeper into a particular region to unravel its mysteries and get fully immersed in the ongoing narrative. Each region is spotlighted for a few months , but is always part of the world of Arcadia. Sessions change from night to night, so no matter how often you drop by, you can always find a new adventure to try. Meanwhile, the ongoing stories are affected by players’ actions. Arcadia is a living world: the story you tell, and the choices you make, will determine its future.
We are also passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space for all members of our community. We have a dedicated safety council and a strong safety charter created in collaboration with safety experts and people in the community. We have partnered with our friends at Mission Diverse to support inclusivity and safety for all our community. We also host monthly town hall meetings where community members can voice their thoughts, share ideas, and help shape the future of Arcadia.
We also have 14 soundproof rooms — so the table of bards next door won’t interrupt your quiet, backstory-heavy session (or vice versa!). And of course, our GMs are the best in the business — they’re passionate, creative, and committed to making sure every player enjoys their session.

No prep is necessary for any of Arcadia's drop-in sessions -- but if you want to catch up on the story so far, check out our Archives here. However, you will need a phone or tablet and the dndbeyond app!

Then we’re so happy you’re considering playing with us! If this is your first session at Arcadia or playing D&D, please book a "New Players & Characters" ticket to ensure you have time to create a character and get acquainted with the world. Our sessions and GMs are super beginner-friendly, and you’ll find no shortage of people happy to help you out — or let you figure things out at your own pace.

Hey, we totally understand the very human desire to make enough characters to play a whole table on your own -- and we support you in this. If you've already gone through a Character Creation session, for subsequent characters just tag a GM in the discord or swing by early so we can make sure your next character is in one of our campaigns.
-
Absolutely! We offer private room rentals for your own games. You can book a room for a quiet, uninterrupted session with your friends, with food and drinks orders delivered to your table via mage hand (or a friendly staff member). Head over to the room booking page to see our availabilities at a glance.
-
Absolutely! Our bright, central venue is available for use from 9-5, whether you want to tackle emails, work on projects, or just spend time around other creative types. We offer hot-desk seats and meeting rooms; check out our offerings here.
*Note: while we make some changes behind the scenes, daytime coworking will be available from the 11th of December 2025 onwards.

Arcadia Games stands with writers and artists and does not condone the use of AI art. Our room photos, sessions, maps, and character art are created by real people, and that means a lot to us. (If you're an artist, check out our call-outs here -- or swing by our Artisans Guild on Saturday mornings for community and support!)

We will always try our best to accommodate our players’ needs however we can — don’t hesitate to ask. Unfortunately, we are located in a historic walk-up building so cannot currently accommodate people who cannot take stairs. If you have a disability that prevents you from joining an Arcadia session in our venue, please reach out to us -- we would love to work out a way for you to join us in another way.

YES! Please bring your dogs so we can say hello to them and tell them how good they are.
